The Buddy System: It's A Comic Strip

Made at GLC Productions in NYC in 1999, this cartoon went on to win an award at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and was then optioned by Sony Wonder to be a television series. It was the last project I did for them.

Charivari

CalArts thesis, 16mm, 1995

A charivari is when performers enter the ring at the beginning of the circus to introduce themselves and have a little fun.

Before entering CalArts in 1992 I was a roustabout for the Big Apple Circus. Being a participant in an inclusive nomadic arts community and observing how the performers from all over the world can come together in a ring to create incredible physical artistry, and all the behind-the-scenes work that went into it, was a major influence on my life at that time.

The Hour: Live From Tipitina's

In 1989 the drummer, my brother, asked me to be a roadie for their national tour. I brought along my Bolex to document the trip around the country in a school bus.
