I worked on a lot of great commercials at a lot of great studios with a lot of great and amazingly talented artists.
(btw, did you see that Activia still? I did that 3D animation at (I think) Click 3X. Probably seen over 1b and, if so, easily my most watched animation)
Here are some of my favorites...
And here are some old faves.
Frooti "Love Story"
I animated the Previz and the dancer.
Made at Hornet
Scale Computing - Simplicity Engineered
All design, 2D and 3D animation. At a minute and a half, this is the longest piece I've ever done by myself.
NHL Promo
This spot is typical of what a product looks like when you have the time to finesse it. The creative director Doug (we call each other "the other Doug") kept pushing the look. I can't remember how many times I finessed the surfacing and lighting, at least a dozen, but it was worth every version.
All 3D. Made with Maya.
Made at Galaxy 61.
Maître d' and Noodle
These 2 commercials, made for Manischewitz, were created under the direction of Alex, a visual effects supervisor from ILM. He left no detail untouched, even the pen for the fish had to be based on a one. We finessed everything, the modeling, texture maps, animation, lighting. We spent weeks on these animations and the hard work shows.
I was one of 2 animators. For Maitre d' I'm pretty sure I animated the bulk of it, everything but the "OooLaLa" and the chicken with the boxes. For Noodle, much less. I know I animated the scene when the mom reaches down and pats her sons butt.
Made with Maya and RenderMan.
Made at Post Perfect/Cyclotron.
BMW
This was BMW's first CG car commercial. Originally the last shot was going to be shot live-action but the client liked our version so much that they kept it.
I was the project leader and an animator. Made with Maya and RenderMan.
Made at Post Perfect/Cyclotron.
Big Chair Logo
Timing is the most important aspect of animation. The timing in this logo, from the chair and cord to the camera move, really works. While not a commercial, I've always loved it.
I did all the 3D. Made with Maya.
Made at Collider.
